Build your business foundation

Designed to strengthen your professional opportunities and complement your studio major, the Business of Art and Design minor gives artists, designers, and content creators a practical foundation in the business skills that matter most in creative industries.

This interdisciplinary, flexible minor prepares you to understand how creative industries operate from the inside: how organizations are managed, how projects get made, and how business strategy shapes the work.

Understanding how creative businesses operate is a skill set that stands out, regardless of your discipline. You’ll explore the fundamentals of business management, marketing, finance, and strategy as they apply directly to creative work. You’ll learn how creative organizations and departments operate, how to communicate effectively with clients and teams, and how to align your creative practice with strategic goals.
